Dr. Bowman

Dr. Bowman like to do things a little differently. What do you expect from a duo who took their name from the hero of Kubrick’s ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’?

Whether in their Christmas tale of generosity for Milka, their story of young love interrupted and accepted for Douwe Egberts, or their visual poem of togetherness for Etisalat, Dr. Bowman use their distinctive and often-imitated visual style to tell emotional and gripping human stories. Their work often combines flawless lighting, harmonious composition, and balanced movement, but always around a narrative heart. They describe it as ‘stylised realism’, but we just describe it as stunning – a viewpoint shared by festival and award wins and nominations across the globe. 

Separately, they are director Laurens Jans and cinematographer Herman van den Bosch, but together they are Dr. Bowman, and that’s how we like them (although they are great separately too).
